  • America’s Cup,
  • Labour set to unveil new caucus line-up,
  • Labour candidate selected for Christchurch East,
  • and John Key’s visit to Balmoral.

Listen out for Matthew Hooton launching into a full-scale hysterical rant over David Cunliffe. Hooton has either lost the plot – or this is the beginnings of a sinister right-wing scheme to destroy David Cunliffe’s reputation via a slander-campaign.

In my view, it is the latter.

Yes, folks, Cunliffe is such a threat to John Key’s government that National’s strategists have launched a smear campaign against the new Labour leadership.

Watch out for more of the same in coming weeks.

By the way – Kathryn Ryan was so annoyed at Hooton’s performance that she cut the segment short at just over 18 minutes. Normally, her Monday political panel is around 25  minutes or longer.

If David Cunliffe does not drop his proposed ‘Chief of Staff’ – Wendy Brandon, then he will himself help to politically destroy any reputation that he may have, regarding sound political judgment.

Wendy Brandon is the corporate-controlled Auckland Council General Counsel, who initiated Court proceedings against Occupy Auckland.

Wendy Brandon has worked hand-in-hand with Auckland Council CEO, Doug McKay, who is a member of the Committee for Auckland, who effectively run the Auckland region, like a business, by business FOR business.

    ‘Seek truth from FACTS’ yourself!

Wendy Brandon is a proven advocate for the corporate 1%.

If David Cunliffe is genuinely opposed to corrupt crony capitalism – why ON EARTH would he appoint someone who has so ably served the interests of corrupt crony capitalists?

As a ‘Named Respondent’ and Appellant in the (successful) Occupy Auckland vs Auckland Council Appeal – this is a subject of which I have a thorough understanding.

For information which PROVES how Auckland Council is a ‘$upercity for the 1%’ and Wendy Brandon’s role in helping to achieve this – check out the following 10 new ‘Items of Evidence’ which Wendy Brandon opposed being revealed in Court:

As long as David Cunliffe sticks to facts about his past, Mathew the Dick Hooton can say what he likes. He doesn’t have much credibility anyway.

Hooten is such a disingenuous ass. Listening to him get borderline hysterical was comedy gold. I noticed that Kathryn Ryan spent the remainder of the session pointedly ignoring him. If only the rest of the mainstream media would do that.

That was worse that the rant that got Martyn Bradbury booted off RNZ. I wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t hear from Mr. Hooten any more on 9 to Noon.

      Good point, Steve. I hadn’t considered that…

    **up Date**

Kathryn Ryan today read out a formal apology on her “Nine To Noon” show regarding the incident. Radio NZ had looked into Hooton’s allegations and found no basis to them.

If Hooton repeats this performance he may end up persona non grata, as was Martyn Bradbury in October 2010. (Except that Martyn’s “crime” was a whole lot less – daring to criticise the PM)

Disappointing that the apology was from RNZ National. It should have been from Hooton.

  7. 28 September 2013 at 10:20 am

It’ll be interesting to see if he refers to it again on Monday, Fern… Oh, and thanks for the link!

From Media Watch on Radio NZ – more fallout from Hooton’s outburst last Monday; http://www.radionz.co.nz/audio/player/2570963

Note the double standards from Radio NZ, in treating Hooton and Martyn Bradbury. It seems that Hooton will be back on Nine to Noon tomorrow (Monday).

They sacked Martyn Bradbury from Jim Mora’s shop. I wonder if Hooton will earn the same fate? I’m not holding my breath. It seems that certain people connected with the National government can get away with all sorts of bad behaviour and scandals, these days.
