The consequences of the Psychoactive Substances Bill – our shame

On 11 July 2013, the Psychoactive Substances Bill had it’s third and final reading passed. It now requires only Royal Assent from the Governor Geneneral to be passed into law.

Green MP, Mojo Mathers, attempted to pass an amendment that would have banned testing of party pills and synthetic cannabis on animals.

This was voted down by National, Peter Dunne, and  Brendan Horan. The NZ First caucus abstained.

So, for the pleasure of a bunch of pot heads and party-goers, these drugs will be tested on animals like these,

Are we happy now?

The word civilized needs to be debated as there are amongst us some who have no idea what the word means. If these are the dugs du jour then I suggest those MP’s who voted for this Bill should be the ones the drugs are tested on, in fact I demand this should happen. User pays remember? A few blankety blank words come to mind as I ponder where these people are coming from, their IQ level and wouldn’t it be nice to know which school they went to ? There is something not quite right here…..tobacco – a natural growing herb puffed in peace pipes until they added the killer chemicals, is near as damn it banned, but this rot is OK ? Trying to make up for the tobacco taxes now lost ? A smell of hypocrisy permeates the atmosphere.

I was disgusted at Peter Dunne voting against this Bill and more so that NZ First abstained. Is that what we’re paying their hefty salaries for? To abstain on important issues?

As for Peter Dunne, my vote will be going elsewhere this year.I’m not voting for someone who thinks that causing pain to animals is justified just to make party pills safe for stupid people.
