As Bennett laments,
“People buy 10 cooked chickens and then go and sell them in the carpark.
I can’t stop what individuals do. All I can do is try and put the right security around it.”
And no one – not one person in Bennett’s office; the Ministry of Social Development; or WINZ – guessed that this might happen?!?!
Such a system was bound to be easily circumvented, and once again National has wasted millions of our tax-dollars on a pointless exercise, rather than getting to the nub of the problem: job creation.
Where are the jobs, Mr Key, Ms Bennett, et al?
Idiots.

And the irony here, DV, is that this is simply human ingenuity at work here; give people an asset; impose restrictions; and watch the inevitable. Rats and mice work their way through a maze – humans tend to try to climb over the walls to get out of said maze.

I hope they are getting a discount for buying in bulk so they make a good profit.
I wonder if anyone has used a payment card to pay for sex or drugs brought directly from the supplier by trading the card. Love to hear your stories.

This kinda stuff was predicted by all kinds of people at the time of implementation but National are so into looking tough by making the lives of the poorest of the poor a misery that they left their brains at the door.
If you look at who benefits from all this (the bankers) then it’s just more tax payer dosh going on corporate welfare (actually foreign corporates who are making record) at the expense of New Zealanders who find themselves at the bottom of the heap.
