Not one to pass up an opportunity to reaffirm my fealty and unswerving obedience to Beloved Dear Leader, this blogger has fired off a quick email to Stuff.co.nz with questions as to why we are so lucky to be gifted his Enlightened and Benevolent Leadership.
Well, kinda.
The actual email, posing two questions which I believe merit an honest (*snort!*) response from John Key,

1. On 11 June, in response to your backdown on increasing classroom sizes, you said;
“But, you know, governments from time to time adjust policies . . . if we never listen to people and never take on board what they’re saying then there is an argument for that as well – and that’s called arrogance. And I think we’re a lot of things as a government, but we’re not arrogant.”
If you are prepared to listen to public opposition to increasing classroom sizes, and call that “adjusting policies” – why are you remaining stubborn in the face of public opposition to the part-sale of state owned assets. By ignoring public opinion on this contentious issue, how can you say “but we’re not arrogant”?
2. Why will you not fund life-saving medication for sufferers of Pompe’s disease, as you promised to fully-fund herceptin treatment for breast cancer sufferers in 2008 during the election campaign? Pompe’s disease is just as terminal as breast cancer. Why the discrimination saving some lives and not others?

But you are probably right, your kinds of questions won’t get answered….It’ll probably be a really disheartening experience actually.
It’s interesting that the Nats are putting Key on Stuff. I guess theyu must be really worried about their falling popularity in the polls, and are trying to have Key “work his magic” to boost support.
I think it’ll fail miserably, Overit.
There is also my story appearing on “Stuff” today, wonder if Mr Key will read it while he’s waiting to get started on the answering of questions lol

Dear Mr Key
Thank you for the opportunity to put questions to you.
My husband is in our Defence Force and has even received a Defence Force commendation from Lieutenant General Sir Jerry Mateparae for services to the New Zealand Defence Force. We both love New Zealand and have been proud to call our country home. We have a grown son at university and 2 young sons aged 10 and 9 at home.
My husband and I both voted for you when you won the election and were given the job as our Prime Minister. We voted for you because we thought you were a decent man.
I have a very rare, but very fatal disease, as fatal as cancer. 5 Kiwis are desperately seeking treatment for this disease called Pompe Disease, a rare inherited disorder. This treatment, called Myozyme, is approved for use in New Zealand. Pharmac say they won’t fund it because it is too expensive and not proven that it works well enough. This medication is best practise in nearly 60 countries world wide, with New Zealand and Australia dragging the chain on funding. The world wide experts say this medication does work. Pharmac, nor their advisors, have any experts in the disease or indeed experts on the treatment available.
My question Mr Key is;
Why will you not step in and help our Kiwis who are dying like you did with the herceptin ladies? You have proven you can overturn a decision by Pharmac. On the numerous occasions that I have written to you, I have twice received a “thank you for writing” from a secretary and passed my correspondence on to Tony Ryall who in his own words states he is unable to get involved in a decision by Pharmac. The rest of the correspondence has been totally ignored Mr Key. What “decent man” would let people die when he could save their lives? Will you tell my little boys at my funeral that you could have helped me but I wasn’t worth the money?
