From the National Party Politburo…
.
.
The latest diktat from Commissar Parata: no more criticism of National Party policy will be tolerated.
This blogger now awaits the National Party hierarchy to send in state security (Police? Army? SIS?) to raid offices and homes of School Trustees.
As we saw with police raids on various media offices after the Teapot Tape debacle, National is not averse to using it’s State apparatus when it suits it’s agenda.
Tertiary Education Commissar, Steven Joyce issued similar instructions to University students, to cease their criticsms of National,
.

So much for respect for freedom of speech.
Will blogs be next?

Boards of trustees are parents elected to run schools. As such they have a DUTY to speak on such matters. They aren’t government employees.
Whn in Oppostion they ( Nats) often accused labour of being ‘Nanny State’. Ironically they are more nanny state then Labour ever were. Freedom of speech is slowly being eroded by this government
What a load of cobblers. Have you heard them in ‘the house”? Boasrds have every right to say what they think – it’s called self-management!
Parent elected Trustees can and should criticise and oppose Government policy if necessary; it is their democratic right to do so.. It is taxpayer money that Governments spend – not National party funds. This government is fascist and will make the biggest bang ever heard at an election – the bang they make at the bottom of a lift shaft. Key may find that he is not wanted overseas once he is finished with NZ politics.
“”My general advice to NZUSA (NZ Union of Students’ Associations) on the cost of living for students is to keep your heads down because actually most people probably think you’re doing OK.”
Oh ok, just ignore a bit of a reality check Steven. Just because some people think that, doesn’t mean it *is*. And this coming from a man who had his entire education fully funded, zero fees, zero loan, naturally…
So, they’ve done away with the only station with educational content, effectively a NZ-style “burning of the books”, and having gotten rid of content that will wake most people up, they’re fully into their program of directing what people ought to be thinking and concerned about, because they are simply quasi-fascists – and here I was thinking their supporters wanted an END to the so-called invasive “nanny state” directing what we think and do!!! But it’s alright I guess if it’s National and it’s top down direction, our betters, those titans of industry we must continually aspire to emulate!!!
Roger Waters had an opinion on that in “Welcome to the Machine”
“Welcome my son, welcome to the machine.
What did you dream? It’s alright we told you what to dream.”
To which the only answer Students and informed people must give is yet another lyric from the mouth of Roger…
“I gotta admit that I’m a little bit confused
Sometimes it seems to me as if I’m just being used
Gotta stay awake, gotta try and shake off this creeping malaise
If I don’t stand my own ground, how can I find my way out of this maze?”
If you care about this land and the people, make it your default policy to do the opposite of whatever the National party regime suggests you do or don’t do.
Funny thing, Chem, that’s now my “second instinct”…
