Dr Hope is right on the money with his Budget assessment as ‘wealth defence’. The tiny cuts to bach rentals etc smell like they were a last minute nod to perceived discontent. Nats’ hypocrisy of applying hands-off -leave it to the market passivity to create jobs, raise productivity, enhance conditions for business/exporters, is very obvious when they are so damned interfering in local councils & what they can do, the lives of beneficiaries & the working poor and education. They are pushing the country towards TINA positions – where we’re so deep in the crapper, asset sales and wholesale mining will be the only way out.
