It appears that the pro-POAL Facebook page, “TonySavedOurPort.com has been taken down.
The FB page was set up on or about 13 March, by an anonymous author, and was a pro-Tony Gibson, pro-company mouthpiece.
The Admin was unapologetic in his/her pro-company stance, and we can only wonder who was behind it.
It appears that the page may have been shut down as it was “swamped” with people expressing their free opinions that the workers were most definitely in the right – and POAL Board and management were being arses.
FB can be a very effective tool to highlight injustice and promote decent causes.
Not so good, though, for being a propaganda mouthpiece.
Solidarity to the Auckland port workers. You guys are fighting the good fight.

Well Gibson sure stuffed that one up. He’ll soon be out on his ass quick smart with a big boot on his backside. He has failed his masters. Silly man- they don’t like failure.
I guess the threat of knowing there was so much support out there for Tony and the non-parsloe ass licking group was too much for MUNZ to handle and they have obviously sabotaged the page. All good just shows the maturity of the insecure.
TSOP – can you be more specific how “they have obviously sabotaged the page”? With the Page closed, we cannot see what you’re referring to.
Have you considered that people are really angry at POA management and were taking their frustrations out on you? You were representing POA management even if in a de facto position.
I have no idea what your role is in all this, but for POA employees it’s their jobs on the line. You can’t blame people for being fearful in disputes like these. Especially when POA is openly defying the Employment Court and probably breaking the law in the process. You might try to see things from the worker’s point and step in their shoes. Try understanding how they feel. For you this is a game (unless you were paid to do this) but for others it’s their livelihoods.
All I can say is that Karyn and anne-marie did a sterling job of winding up the haters and blocked all of the people who dared to have an opinion against what those two believe in.Good riddance to Bad rubbish.Long may the MUNZ lads rightfully reign in their jobs at the port.Solidarity to the workers.
