Gerry Brownlee is sorry because “people [did not see] the humour” in his obnoxious comments?! How does that constitute an “apology”??
Gerry – shut the hell up! You’re digging a bigger hole for yourself and continuing to insult a nation and people that have done nothing to earn your mis-guided derisory “humour”.
You are an embarressment, Gerry. I suggest you take a holiday. A longgggg holiday. In fact, don’t bother coming back.

“I apologise for people not seeing the humour of it…” is not an apology. Neither should there be an “if I caused offense…”. He did. A simple “I apologise for the offense I caused” would suffice.

It reveal’s something that Christchurch folk who didn’t vote for him have known for awhile. Brownlee is tactless and lacks empathy with people in Struggle Street. His disregard for peoples concerns being trampled on by the legislation that created C.E.R.A. despite them being valid should raise alarm bells if C.E.R.A. is going to be the governance model for recovering from big disasters.
